Jeff is a member of HMB’s State and Local Tax (SALT) group and focuses his practice on resolving tax controversies and counseling clients on tax planning matters.
As a partner to a wide range of clients from start-ups to multinational corporations, Jeff advises businesses on tax issues related to income, excise, and sales and use tax. He helps clients limit their state and local tax exposure through thoughtful planning and steadfast litigation strategies when necessary.
Prior to joining HMB, Jeff worked for a renewable energy company where he focused on property tax matters and did some federal income tax planning. He also has significant experience as an appellate attorney and has represented numerous clients in the trial court. In addition, Jeff holds an L.L.M with honors in Taxation from Northwestern University.
