Andrea L. Briski

Andrea works with property owners, developers, investors and banks to ensure their real estate projects achieve their unique business goals. She focuses her practice on complex commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and financing transactions ranging from the purchase and sale of single-site properties to multi-site, multi-million dollar credit facilities.

Prior to joining HMB, Andrea was a real estate associate for several years at Winston & Strawn, LLP, where she represented multinational banks, investment companies, developers, REITs and Fortune 500 companies in complex single-site and portfolio real estate transactions, including the financing and refinancing of credit facilities and syndicated loans of up to $2.3 billion dollars. She was also a trusted advisor to the firm's corporate clients, regularly counseling clients on all real estate aspects of corporate transactions involving real estate collateral. Andrea also worked for national title insurance companies both as a title examiner and commercial escrow officer. She has significant insight and proficiency with respect to title insurance, underwriting matters and closing logistics.

Andrea's core work involves:

  • Representing purchasers, sellers, landlords, tenants, REITS, investment companies, multinational banks, finance companies, real estate management organizations, lenders and borrowers
  • Real estate transactions including purchases, sales, leasing and financing for all types of real estate assets including office, industrial, warehouse, hotel, restaurant, shopping centers and lifestyle centers

Regardless of the size or nature of each deal, Andrea's broad experience enables her to view important and complex real estate matters from all angles, approaching issues proactively and efficiently. She has significant experience navigating and managing all facets of corporate real estate transactions, including credit facilities, asset and stock purchases/sales and bankruptcy exit financings.

Andrea received her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she served as an Executive Articles Editor on the Chicago-Kent Law Review.  She earned her B.A. in Political Science from Valparaiso University.

In her free time, Andrea is a fitness enthusiast and practices kickboxing, spinning and yoga. She is an avid reader and enjoys traveling and volunteering.
