On September 11, 2013, HMB's Brian Axelrad kicked off his annual presentation series on Venture Capital Finance for Startup Leadership Program's Chicago chapter.

The series, which is a specially designed curriculum for SLP Chicago, covers venture capital finance related topics for SLP's entrepreneurs ranging from understanding capitalization tables and priced equity financing rounds to convertible notes and negotiating term sheets.

The series of lectures occurs over five months and culminates in a day-long workshop for the SLP co-hort in which the entrepreneurs negotiate the terms of an equity financing against real venture capital investors.

Startup Leadership Program, which is headquartered in Boston, is a highly selective, 80-hour, 6-month training program for entrepreneurs.  The Chicago chapter is in its third year.
