Each year, the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs honors an individual with the Rabbi Robert J. Marx Social Justice Award, recognizing their commitment to JCUA’s mission of fighting racism and poverty in partnership with Chicago’s diverse communities.
This year on July 20, the award will be presented to Jeff Zaluda for his lifelong dedication to pursuing social justice and a more equitable Chicago. Jeff has been a leading voice in JCUA’s work for more than a decade, generously dedicating his time, passion and resources to carrying forward their mission. Jeff is a longtime member, board member and former President of the JCUA Board of Directors.
“To be honored by JCUA in this way is one of the great validators of my life,” Jeff said. “The opportunity to work with JCUA to create real systemic change in a world full of inequities is an important part of how I express my values. I will not stop the work for which I am being honored, whether with JCUA, at home, at work or any other circles in which I may travel over the coming years.”
Jeff joined HMB in 1987, is a Partner in HMB's Private Client, Trusts & Estates Group, and chairs the firm's Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Action task force. Learn more about Jeff here. You can learn more and support JCUA here.
