Before we ring in the new year, HMB is celebrating some of our favorite moments of 2019, in our first Week of Holiday Cheer.
Over the next week, we'll remember a few moments and accomplishments that we are most proud of.
Celebrating 2019 and the HMB Family
It’s been an amazing year both inside and outside the office! As we celebrate the holidays, we have a lot to be thankful for including the growing HMB family. This year we celebrated numerous weddings and new additions. As we close out 2019 and our first ever #WeekofHolidayCheer, the HMB family gathered for breakfast, shared lunch, exchanged gifts and raised a glass at the holiday happy hour.
As 2019 draws to a close and we look forward to 2020, HMB wishes everyone a happy holiday and a joyful new year!
We take pride in our drive to provide a better experience for our clients and are committed to being a resource in every matter. By leveraging our network through the Law Firm Alliance, HMB connected clients with counsel worldwide. HMB's own Hal Wood was named to the LFA Board of Directors in 2019. The LFA enables us to connect clients with outstanding attorneys across the globe and we We look forward to continuing our partnership and providing this great resource to our clients in 2020.
HMB is nothing without its world-class people. This year we added Julianne M. Dailey, Nathan E. Delman, Max W. Fargotstein, Tina M. Garcia, Paul C. Huddle, Madeleine J. Minton, Meghan L. Murphy, Dakota Newton, Payal J. Patel, James R. Plucinsky, Ryan F. Sullivan, Jennifer C. Thiel, Jennifer C. Thomas and Michael L. Whitchurch to our growing Litigation, Bankruptcy, Business & Finance, Real Estate and Private Clients Trusts & Estates teams. We also started 2019 with three new Partners: Christin A. Handa, Christopher T. Lutz and Renee A. Rossi and are excited to announce that Grant Hendricks, David Machemer and Tim Rybicki were elevated to Partner this month. We're thrilled to have such an amazing team and are looking forward to working with them in 2020 and beyond.
You may have noticed, HMB has a new look! This year we relaunched our website, designed a new logo and shortened our name. After extensive research, we learned that most people know us as "HMB." While we're still Horwood Marcus & Berk, we updated our name and look to reflect how our friends and clients know us. We also redesigned our website with one question in mind--how do we provide a better experience and resource for our clients?
We're excited about our new look which reflects our drive to deliver a better client experience and we look forward to being a trusted partner to our clients in 2020.
In 2019, HMB partnered with incredible organizations such as Facing Forward to End Homelessness, Bethesda, Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and the 14th Chicago Festival of Israeli Cinema. HMB also supported: Jewish Council for Youth Services, Meals on Wheels Chicago, Social Venture Partners Chicago, Chicago Bar Foundation, Jewish Council on Urban Affairs, Jewish United Fund and Landmarks Illinois. HMB team members served as board members, race runners and volunteers to support these organizations and we're eager to see their good deeds carry into 2020!
