Brian Axelrad Making an Impact with Students at Chicago Booth School of Business

As the Impact Investor in Residence through the Rustandy Center for Social Service Innovation at the Chicago Booth School of Business, Brian Axelrad works with, counsels and mentors students focused on impact investment and careers in the field. As part of these efforts, Brian coached teams of Booth MBA students who participated in two international, multi-business school competitions: the "Invest for Impact" competition hosted by Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina and the MBA Impact Investment Network & Training (MIINT) competition hosted by the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and Bridges Ventures.  Each of these two Booth student teams took second place in their respective competition, against other top MBA programs from around the world.

Congratulations to both the Invest for Impact (Ashray Reddy, Kelly de Klerk, Christine Groesbeck, Charles Cole and Luis Sanchez) and the MIINT (Riddhima Hinduja, Jenny Sang, Shruthi Subramanyam, Jeremiah Hillebrand and Jessica Green) teams on their success! Chicago Business Newspaper featured both the Invest for Impact and the MIINT team in recent articles.

Chicago Booth Magazine also did a feature story on its impact investing efforts and alumni in the space as the cover story for the Winter 2018 edition. Read the full article here.

Brian also participated in a panel at the "Emerging Markets Summit" at the Chicago Booth School of Business. This discussion focused on "The Role of Social Impact in Africa's Development" where attendees learned about the investing landscape and the future of social impact programs in Africa.
