With a multi-billion dollar budget and pension crisis on hand, Illinois is desperately seeking new sources of revenue, including new and potentially radical unclaimed property laws. These new rules create a "taxing effect" on holders who in many cases did not have unclaimed property reportable to the state under the previous law. Many holders now have reporting obligations as a result of the retroactive elimination of the business-to-business exemption coupled with other transitional provisions. Please join HMB Law, BDO's SALT practice, and the Illinois Chamber of Commerce for a must see and hear webinar on Illinois unclaimed property updates.

Presented by:

  • David Hughes, Partner HMB
  • Nick Boegel, SALT Managing Director, BDO USA, LLP
  • Rodney Michna, SALT Manager, BDO USA, LLP
  • Keith Staats, Executive Director, Tax Institute, Illinois Chamber of Commerce
