As part of Volunteer Awareness Month, HMB attorney Aaron Werner has been profiled for his work with the non-profit charity Open Heart Magic (OHM). OHM provides interactive bedside hospital magicians for children of all ages. Magicians work one-on-one with children, using magic as a means to encourage participation and engage the imagination. This helps the children served find their own sense of confidence and mastery as they learn to perform magic tricks for their doctors, families and friends. These personalized interactions help the children feel special, more confident, and empowered during a stressful and sometimes frightening time in their lives. By inviting them to be a part of the interaction, they are encouraged to feel energized, thereby accelerating the healing process.

Aaron, who has served as Chairman of the Board of Open Heart Magic since December 2010 and started as a bedside magician himself, shares his passion for this charity in a special interview available through the Open Heart Magic website.
