Professional Bio

MEGAN M. MATHIAS concentrates her practice in complex business and tax litigation. Megan has represented clients in partnership disputes, complex contractual disputes, trust litigation, employment matters, healthcare issues, general business disputes and multi-state tax disputes. While she understands that not every case is best suited for trial, and some cases require strategic finesse to be resolved in her clients' best interest, Megan enthusiastically and successfully takes the right cases to trial.

Megan also devotes a significant portion of her practice to representing multi-state businesses in state and local tax litigation around the country. Megan was instrumental in a recent judgment in favor of a taxpayer on a consequential cost of performance issue. ( Click here for announcement)

Megan is responsible for developing a diversity initiative at Horwood Marcus & Berk to promote diversity in the workplace, enrich the culture of the firm, and implement the firm's commitment to fostering a rich and welcoming community. Megan is actively involved and devotes time in legal and non-legal communities and serves as a member of many organizations including the Executive's Club, Goodman Theatre and Women in Management.
