October 19, 2016

Changing the Rules After the Game: Evaluating the Impact and Inequities of Retroactive Tax Legislation

Jordan Goodman will address the key implications of retroactive tax legislation, including applicable constitutional standards, effects on taxpayer confidence in the system, and recent and pending cases challenging retroactive taxation. Presenters will discuss when, if ever, retroactive legislation is appropriate and action that taxpayers can take at the legislative, administrative and judicial levels related to this issue.

If I Only Knew Then What I Know Now

Marilyn Wethekam and Breen Schiller will discuss the wisdom gained from experience in both industry and private practice, with the enthusiasm and fresh thinking of a new generation of SALT practitioners. The panelists will happily share their wisdom and perspectives on technical tax issues, communications, negotiations, management, professional development and leadership.
